This April day was a dream for bridal portraits: soft breeze, sunshine with some passing clouds, and the open, rolling fields with trees and natural beauty. I loved photographing Hayli Ketner for these reasons, but mostly because of the beauty that resides within and around this pretty lady. I have had the privilege of knowing Hayli more closely during the pre-wedding season, and I love her simple elegance. I really wanted to capture that part of her. Of course her wedding venue in Tallapoosa, Georgia, was the perfect frame for her. This session was one of the most peaceful and joyful I have experienced- we spent time photographing in various places around the venue, by the lake, behind the barn, under the willows. Truly a beautiful experience.
You'll see Hayli has an easy laugh and a natural presence in front of the camera. She's holding flowers that were gathered from my mother's backyard, which paired perfectly with that romantic simplicity she carries. Her long veil was made by a talented friend, which was a perfect fit for the light breeze this day, and so much fun to work with in different shots.
Hayli and her husband, Joe, just got married on May 17 and are now kickin' it in Punta Cana on their honeymoon! I am so thrilled for them, and I am so excited to share these bridal portraits with you (finally!!)
And- I asked Hayli why she's excited to marry Joe and this how she responded (so adorable):
"I'm so thrilled to marry him because 'we go together like peas and carrots'- but seriously, Forrest Gump quotes aside, he fits me so incredibly well. I love that he loves Jesus. He makes me a better person and I'd like to think I do the same for him. We challenge each other spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally positively because we are a team; all things I've never known to be possible in any other person the way we do each other. There is never a dull moment when he's around, and I can be totally, 100% myself- it's so amazing the moment you find that person, you feel at ease. I thank God every day for such a loving gift placing this man in my life and I'm so ecstatic for us to become one and to grow together along our journey. I love you so much, Joseph Richard."
I also had the absolute honor of designing their wedding invitations and programs, too! See previous blog post: 'Navy + Ivory'.
